Increase Your Metabolism For Permanent Weight Loss

Does anybody else feel frustrated because they start a diet with the absolute best intentions, but after a short period give up because the outcome is not worth the sacrifice? Sound familiar - in fact a lot of people just simply give up starting to diet because they believe that if they start a new diet they are just setting themselves up for failure.

This causes people to feel that it will always be this way and they can't do anything about it. They just learn to put up with the 'looks' and the way people perceive them.

Well I would like you to take a deep breath, yes literally take a deep breath and say 'I am' as you breath in - hold the breath for 2 - 3 seconds and then say 'feeling good' as you breath out, because there is a way to lose weight that doesn't involve starving yourself, which is the reason most participants in diets 'fail'. Now smile - smile at anything, the computer, the wall anything - just smile for a moment.

Now that you are starting to feel good I want to discuss how you can continue to feel good about losing weight. Gone will be those feelings of failure because as man continues to learn about the body he is discovering that the best way to lose weight is to increase metabolism. If you increase your metabolism from your present levels you will lose weight and the weight loss will be sustained.

I know you are now feeling good, but can I just go back to 'traditional diets' for a minute. Traditional diets are almost doomed to fail in the majority of cases because they require you to cut your calorie intake and exercise more. Now we want to encourage more exercise, but if you cut your calorie intake and exercise more you are actually left feeling tired and lethargic. Why - because your body realises that it is receiving less calories and it slows down your metabolism. Your metabolism slows and your burn less calories, you then exercise and your body hasn't got the energy to sustain the extra activity and after the exercise you are left feeling tired and lethargic.

On top of that, your body is really smart and it goes into survival mode. Because the calorie intake has dropped, the body slows the metabolism down and you burn fewer calories. The body receives a signal that it is in for a lean period and it better conserve energy until it starts to receive the normal amount of calories again. What happens if your body burns the same amount of calories as it is being fed - Nil weight loss.

That is why there is usually a short period after you start a diet when there is a drop in your weight, but the weight loss slows down, then stops and you are left frustrated because you cannot achieve any further weight loss. Your body has adjusted itself to the lower calorie intake, you have less energy and are left feeling weak and tired because your body is conserving energy and you don't lose any further weight. No wonder people get frustrated.

Alright big breath again 'I am - feeling good' because you want to know is it possible to increase your metabolism. Sure is - and this is the really cool part, you need to eat more than 3 meals per day. A program has been developed that involves 'calorie shifting'. It teaches you how to increase your metabolism and then how to maintain the increased metabolism, which involves a process that 'tricks' the body, so that it cannot get used to the new calorie intake and adjust itself accordingly. That is the reason that you can continue to lose weight, and not return to your original weight within a short space of time.

Now there is an extra cool bit - you maintain the program for 11 days and then you can have 3 days off. This is part of the process of not letting your body get accustomed to the new calorie intake. So after every 11 days you can eat what you like for 3 days. This is fantastic because you can tell yourself that you don't have to do this day in day out, after 11 days you can have a rest. Now that is something to smile about.
